You don't miss it until you haven't got it!!

Can you now see what an easy life we had before corona virus? That is, most of us in the developed world.  How we grumbled about our lives and wanted more.  Bigger homes, bigger cars, bigger salaries.  Now we are brought up with a huge jolt.  Now we have to start appreciating what we still have.  We might be having to find different sources for our groceries but there is still plenty of food available. Because we are in isolation we are finding the telephone and other technologies are a lifeline in keeping in contact with our friends.  I have a piano pupil.  Obviously I cannot have her for lessons in my house, but it's amazing what we can do on Skype and with time on her hands she is doing more piano practice. Human beings can be very resourceful.  Unfortunately not always in the best ways.  I heard on the radio that a doctor had been mugged at a cash machine.  We human beings are sinful, fallen people and need to turn away from sin and put our trust in Jesus who promises to forgive us if we put our trust in Him. There are two types of sinner, those who are forgiven and grateful to God and those who are not forgiven because they refuse to accept that they are sinners, but even these can be turned around by God.  Which sort are you? You are certainly a sinner, for as certainly as you inherited DNA from your ancestors so you did sin.  All the way back to Adam and Eve who though they knew God was their Creator and knew Him personally that He was most wise and wonderful, still they could not resist disobeying Him.  All they were told was not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  When there were a myriad of other delicious fruit trees to eat from you would have thought that was not too much to ask. But eat they did and became sinners and passed that sin on to each one of us.

Now I can hear some of you saying, "Why is she dragging this old story up again?" Well it's got everything to do with our present situation.  In both cases you cannot have a solution until you face the problem, whether it is the problem of sin or the problem of Corona Virus.  If you refuse to recognise the problem of sin you will not come to Jesus for His solution to the problem, the only solution.  And if you refuse to accept that corona virus is among us you will not take precautions to prevent yourself and others being infected.

So which is the bigger problem corona or sin.  Corona can only take your life, but sin can condemn you to the second death.  If you are trusting in Jesus he can take you safely through Corona to eternal life.  Corona cannot rob you of that.

Denial Over Corona Virus

When something very nasty comes our way we can only take in some much of the horror of the situation and then our minds protect us by putting us into a state of denial.  It's all very well sitting cozy in the middle of a storm, but by doing that you can put others at risk.  It is tempting to think that the corona virus situation is not real and won't touch you and your family, to think that somehow the heads of state who appeared so lately to be at loggerheads are in fact manufacturing the whole thing for their own purposes.  Just see how the mind wants to divert us from the awful truth. Do you realize we could be on the point of the total collapse of civilization? That's why people panic buy because inside they realize food production and distribution could break down.  Of course the little store they have been able to stash away will not last long. Deny us our food and we turn into much nastier human beings, well no that's the way we always were but this brings out...

The Cull

The gamekeeper looked over the moorland with a keen eye at the herd of deer grazing happily.   Of course he was not their owner, he had gone on a long journey, but he had been gone so long that the gamekeeper, whose name was Godred   Selfishman, had for some time come to see himself as the owner of the deer and as the best person to fashion the herd according to his own desire. He had forgotten that the owner had a special affinity with each individual deer.   He knew them all by name and they would come to him when he called. They were precious each one and woe betide anyone who would hurt any of his deer. Once Godred had known all this but over the years he had forgotten. He looked at the herd in the valley eating grass and flicking their ears.   They were content, unsuspecting. He had told the neighbouring farmers, “There are too many deer; they are eating your crops.” Unlike most farmers these did not think for themselves, they did not remember that the...

Is Mary the Mother of God?

This is a very tricky subject because I know I will upset many people by tackling it.  First let me say that everything I say to you is based only on what the Bible says.  I do believe that Mary was the virgin mother of Jesus and that Jesus was fully man and fully God.  Many people say that Mary was sinless but I can show you that she herself denied this.  She said,"My soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour" Read this in Luke (от Лука) 1:46,47. A sinless person does not need a Saviour, but Mary said that God was her Saviour. I have often said that if it was possible to be miserable in heaven then Mary would be the most sad person there, because people often honour her above Jesus.  She would be crying everyday at this . Jesus was her son but also her Saviour. I have many things to add to this but we will take it a step at a time.  Ask the Holy Spirit to help you as you consider these things.  Ask Him to lead you into t...
